Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed AlMegren, Advisor in the Ministry of Higher Education and Director of the National Center for e-learning and Distance Learning, explained that the Second Conference of e-learning and Distance Learning convened by the National Centre for e-learning and distance education, to be held 21 to 24 February 2011, will be accompanied by 22  specialized workshops.

      "The workshops provided by number of international and local trainers, who have their broad expertise in the areas of e-learning and distance learning. The workshop was held on Saturday and Sunday 16 before the opening of the conference, which includes the science program broad as well as exhibition, involving a number of sectors and organizations, national and global know-to-date learning techniques and communication, with the intense media attention to this activity in the various media to reach conference message to the various groups and sectors. “The Vice-Chairman of Organizing Committee of the Conference stated.

      “These workshops are available for both genders, and progress in both Arabic and English, which is designed to showcase the latest international experience in the areas of e-learning and distance learning, and by experts and experts of the finest academic and research institutions concerned with the modern style of education, which strides in curriculum decisions and the means and techniques is presented, and standards of quality, evaluation, and methods of planning, and development.” Dr. AlMegren Added.

      Dr. AlMegren says that " National Center is equally focusing on specialized workshops as scientific research presented at the conference, believing the need for coupling theory with the application, in order to directly benefit from the practical experiences and expertise accumulated, which opens the door to take the most recent and best in this vital area, especially after royal approval of the bill of distance learning, which establishes the Ministry of Higher Education representative at the National Center for the challenges of the practical application of this learning style to talk to the highest standards, which require access to international experiences special, to devise a scientific method developed to take its universities in the application of distance learning, comes to achieving the goal of promoting higher education and made available to the most unwilling, surpassing the limits of time and place, but the full commitment of the highest quality standards, which gives this type of education is its credibility.”

      In conclusion, Dr. AlMegren stated: "The Center pays attention to the media for being a partner in achieving its objectives, therefore, has to provide all the means designated for the media to do its part to reverse the events of the World Conference, in which a distinguished group of academics and researchers who are they prepared with their ideas and theories of the ground for the launch of e-learning and distance learning, along with a group of experienced professionals, who provided practical models have contributed to this advanced mode of education, among them Jimmy Wales, founder of Wikipedia and Sir Tim Berners-Lee the inventor of the network (web) world, and the number of lecturers, more than eighty researchers internationally locally, with the presence of a remarkable woman, both in scientific lectures or workshops. "
