Computer supported collaborative learning in higher education: an overview of evidence based approaches
Under the umbrella concept “Computer Supported Collaborative Learning” (CSCL), e-Learning approaches in higher education pay growing attention to efficient, effective and satisfying ways of working and learning together. Key characteristics of successful CSCL-designs build on small group size, clearly structured group tasks, scripting, role assignment and reflective activities .In this session empirical evidence will be presented that was obtained in the domain of pharmaceutical, medical, psychological, and instructional sciences.
Dr. Martin Valcke is currently Professor ‘Instructional Sciences’ at the Ghent University, Belgium and head of the Department of Educational Studies. Building on his PhD-work in the field of educational information sciences, his actual field of research focuses now on the innovation of Higher Education and the integrated use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).
