Authentic e-Learning in higher education
Technologies can be used in Education in several ways Perhaps the most powerful use of technology in higher education is where technologies are used as tools (learning with technology). This presentation will put the case that online technologies afford the design and creation of truly innovative authentic learning designs.
The theoretical foundations of this approach will be explored. Authentic tasks and activities will be demonstrated. The case will be made for a more comprehensive approach to investigating the effectiveness of authentic learning designs through design-based research.

Dr. Jan Herrington Currently she is a professor in Professor in the School of Education
Murdoch University. Jan has an international reputation for her research into e-learning and has won awards at both the national and international level for her research including a prestigious Fulbright scholarship. She is an active member of the editorial boards of several international e-learning journals and international conference programs.
